A Mini-Book For My Boss

My boss is going on a trip, soon, to visit her daughter.  Unlike the many horror stories I hear from people about their boss, I don't have any-  I love my boss!  She is a riot!

So I made her this book, to put photos and anything else, in-

I made this using the blank chipboard album from the Dollar Bin at Michaels.  I used an On The Edge die from Mr. Holtz, to change the edges on two of the boards.  One I kept straight, and one is from one of the scalloped chipboard albums.  I bought a ton of these when I first saw them.   The cover, I've used a license plate cardstock sticker, my Dymo Labler, and attached them- with my Tiny Attacher, to a piece of plastic that was some the packaging for something I bought- which I embossed and rubbed paint on-  I love the way that looks.

This page has a pocket, for anything like- a boarding pass, receipts, whatever.  You know the game.

Here's another one of my octagon flowers!  Haven't seen that for what, two days, have you?

The page on the right doesn't look as yellow in 'real life.'  Sure wish I had a good camera.  And wish I knew how to use one.

Close-up of the front!

Another picture of the front.  You can kinda see the 7Gypsies paper peekin' out.  Also, hanging on the cover- a 'wing' charm, that I got from the beautifully amazing and amazingly beautiful Ellen, from The Women's Waiting Room.  She sent me the greatest little package of charms, as one of her RAKs- just from leaving comments on her page- so check her out and love on her- you never know...!

The rest of my evening involved a Do-It-Yerself Mister Huey disaster.   And by disaster, I mean like the Titanic.  Only my evening had more casualties.  Maybe I'll write about that later.

  1. BRILLIANT idea to change the edges on the chipboard. Makes it so much more interesting. Gonna copy you. I wrote a reply on my blog about the British stamp but if you want some images stamped on white cardstock just let me know. Happy Thursday!

  2. Great mini. I've bought so many of those $1 minis but never thought to swap them out. Maybe now that I have the Big Kick, I'll have to get some of those edges, too.

I need more of the On The Edge dies, now!!!

  3. The creative disaster sounds intriguing Kory lol. Do spill. We all have them. Perhaps others will share & you'll realize you ain't alone. :)

Love the book. Your boss is a lucky woman. All the different shaped pages are a brilliant touch. Gives it more of a feel of a book that you can put anything in, no rules. And to have a Kory flower, well she's indeed honoured. I do hope she appreciates it lol.

BTW I've used one of your sketches. Will upload to blog and hopefully the Flying Unicorn later. Pxx

    1. Yes!!! I am addicted to the Dymo too! I found this one it a cute carrying case, with spare 'font wheels' and random vintage tapes, at the Goodwill for 1.99! The woodgrain is my favorite right now- but that's also a cool '70s refrigerator green' colored tape in there, too!

      thanks so much for replying!

    1. Awww, thank you, Frank!! I felt I didn't do enough with it- I was afraid of it looking hurried, but at the same time, wanted to leave it blank enough for her to add photos.

      You're the best!
