Prima Craftsman, or: The week of new product which excites me in the pants.

So, yeah, I have been meaning to update for two days, with some pics from the night at Paper Crown's Mix 'N Mingle.  I've also had some other idea for a post that I cannot recall at the moment.  Then, there's the idea I had, last night, while under the influence of five or six a few vodka and tonics, which at the moment I must've sworn was the best idea ever to occur - yeah, for real- I was so excited by the idea that I scrawled the entire draft of the post on my steno-pad.  I don't know if it was the booze or the moment, but I wrote the entire post in authentic old-school schoolteacher handwriting.  Full on Palmer Method.  Not joking.

I've spent the evening watching the opening ceremonies from the Olympics.  Wow.  I mean 'wow' in the 'what the hell is up with the giant baby that looks like it's head has been cut open?!' way, not 'wow' in the 'oh what a beautiful show,' way.  And I hate to sound heartless, but-  I hate the sound of children singing.  And the opening ceremonies were mostly that.  As if that's a big surprise.  Just as I was shouting, 'Is there anything more cliche?!,' I was reminded- yes, there is something more cliche than children singing at a 'big, momental event.'  What is it?  You know what it is- it's having the children sing WHILE DOING SIGN LANGUAGE.  Not that I have something against sign language or even ANY language- but really?  Someone was paid to come up with a big, hopefully awe-inspiring, production and the best they could do at any given moment is to fall back on one of the most over-used 'moments' from a grammar school Christmas show?!

Well, my commentary was nonstop.  I should've rented a space and sold tickets for people to watch the ceremonies as I commented over a microphone.  If you think I'm funny during CRAFT WARS: LIVE, then you should've been at my house for my deconstruction of the opening ceremonies.

But, the night got better.  I saw something that excited me.

What was it?

It's Prima's new CRAFTSMAN collection.  Have you checked it out, yet?  You should.  Here's my highlights:

Check out this mask:

You could use it as it, or just use the gear parts, or just use the circle parts.  At the moment, masks are some of my favoritest thangs.  Especially ones that have a multi-use possibility!

Next:  LETTER STICKERS!!!

I should've warned you before the pic- but I didn't.  I'll tell you now.  IGNORE the stickers in the upper right corner.  Really, Prima?  You couldn't do a masculine theme without throwing 'DUDE' in there, could you?  To any companies out there who might deign to read any of my harsh yet (truly) constructive criticism:  you might think you're aiming at pleasing the mainstream with the cliché- but you must remember, the kind of people who might embrace this are not your good customer.  Be true to the theme and always, always, keep it classy.  But the rest of the stickers more than make up for the very very slight affront to taste, dude.   Especially the set in the bottom right.  Great color, great look - and as far as I can tell, not similar to anything already out there!  I love those!  I love the upper right section, but they're a bit too similar to a set from Mr. Holtz's sticker pads to be impressive.  But I still like them.

Okay, NEXT!

Beautiful paper!  Perfect!  The blueprint theme seems to be a trend, right now.  And I love it so much.

Time for some STAMPS!!!

Excuse me, I must have a moment.

Thank you.  The lightbulb?!  The gears.  The compass.  Even the BOOM.  So much fun.  And two bucks?!  Last I checked, the biggest thrill was on a corner for twenty bucks.  You have it beat, Prima!

More sexy paper.  Sexxxy.  Would look great as is and even better if cut up to use each segment as part of a layered embellishment or background for a card or... just laying in a stack of your sexxxy papers, where it's easily accessible for viewing and admiring purposes.

PINS!

What is up with my love of pins?  I don't think I've used any, but I have a few.  And now, I will have more.  The gear and the lightbulb are the best.  The balloon is close, tho, in third.  The pointing finger is nearing 'children singing while signing' saturation point, and I don't know what the hell the little monster is...  I want these.  So much that I'm a little bit angry that scrapbook.com isn't a store down the street, open 24 hours and waiting for me to come in and snatch them up in my hot hand.

Everything is currently available in the SUPERSTORE at Scrapbook.com

Alriiiiight then?  I'm off.  Gonna enjoy this LOCKUP marathon on MSNBC.  Opening Ceremonies?  Olympics, PLEASE-  this is quality television.  Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be the episode with the wild and crazy lesbian loan sharks.  Just like Mr. John Waters, I've always had a soft spot for the female juvenile delinquent.

October Afternoon's 9 to 5 Collection!

Product Photos from OCTOBER AFTERNOON's blog.

OCTOBER AFTERNOON's newest collection has sent my prescription cough syrup addled brain into a tailspin.  It's just past amazing and almost over to live-changing.  Kind of like the time I had my first vodka & tonic in a Dallas hotel room.  You know, that moment something or someone enters your life and you know you were meant to be together?

OA's '9 to 5' is a vintage inspired office daydream-  vintage colors, patterns, even a dark-wood paneled 'boardroom,'  all brought to life in a sexxxy secretary 12X12 patterned paper way.  Scrap up a mini-book about your job, MadMan style!  Relive your Xerox dreams!  All your dreams are possible, now!

When I was a little Kory, my favorite 'game' was PLAYING OFFICE.  I had a cubicle area setup in a corner of my bedroom, where I kept my bright blue manual typewriter, my wire IN/OUT boxes, stacks of paper and random office supplies- and a copy of a dog-eared Office Depot catalog that I would circle objects I thought I needed to 'order.'  Clearly, October Afternoon built this collection for ME.

Seriously, I love every piece of this collection!  Every piece is 'RIGHT.'

Check out these brads:

See the old typewriter?!  I know just where it'll go...

See the entire collection, HERE, at October Afternoon's blog.  Check out the set of STAMPS- with a terrific rotary phone graphic, the journal cards, and their set of coordinating SPRINKERS ink sprays-  great colors, an incredible collection.

Thank you, October Afternoon!!!

Scrapbook Day and BRAND NEW My Mind's Eye!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

I saw this now, AFTER the 'National Holiday.'  We really should push for this to become a federal holiday.  Really.  After reading about some the marathon crops that many of you were attending, you definitely needed to call in sick Monday!

What did I do to celebrate NSBD?  Make a new mini-album?  Make fifty amazing Pinterest*-worthy layouts?

No.  I went  out to celebrate Cinco De Mayo.  Why do WE celebrate Cinco De Mayo so crazily suddenly?  I thought I could at least take some pictures that I COULD scrap-  but I forgot about that plan until 2am when the bars closed and I was pushed out a door and had to wait until they found Holly Busch and pushed her out the door- that was when I remembered I was supposed to be taking pictures.  And are you ready to see this award winning photo?  Here it is:

Yeahp.  I guess I had my finger over the lens.

Oh! Kory!  What was the '*' after Pinterest up in the paragraph up there all about, huh?

WELL!  My favorite online home of scrappytainment, Scrapbook.com, pinned by NYC layout to their Vacations board.  On Pinterest!   And yes, I know they pin LOTS of layouts - but still,  I couldn't help but feel like I should wash my face and put on clean clothes.

So anyways, I'll try to celebrate National Scrapbook Day next weekend.  I'm usually a week behind on holidays.

So, didja see the new collection, NOSTALGIA, just out from MY MIND'S EYE?  I love their papers.  They always look great.  They're rarely overwhelmingly feminine, very versatile- just greatness.  Usually, their stuff reminds me of some kind of great vintage wallpaper from some classy cruise ship.

Check out a few of my favorites:

It's okay.  Take a few minutes to go wash your face.  I'll wait.

Aren't those GREAT?!  I WANT THEM NOW.

Alright.  It's Benadryl time.  See y'all.

BasicGrey: CLIPPINGS: Sneek Peek!

designed by: Kelly Goree http://kellygoree.blogspot.com/
photo from BasicGrey: http://blog.basicgrey.com/

What's this uproar you're hearing about BasicGrey's new collection?   You mean you haven't heard anything yet?  What do you do all day?  Yeah, there's an uproar!  And the classy little beast in the center of the commotion is BasicGrey's new collection, 'CLIPPINGS.'

I'm sorry if I sound as if I'm going overboard- but I can't find enough worthy adjectives to describe my infautuation with this line.  BasicGrey describes the impressive new collection as reading 'like a mystery novel you can't put down.'  I promise you, BG, I won't be putting the collection down.  I will be buying it up and hoarding so much of it that A&E will be knocking down my door to film an episode of HOARDERS.

Well?  Have you seen the sneak peek the geniuses at the BasicGrey blog just posted?  It's amazing.  There's some vintage menswear fabric inspired sexiness, some board game inspired fun, and on top of that, vintage postal (not in the crazy way) hotness.  On top of the patterned paper - there's some outstanding chipboard shapes and alphas, wooden buttons, flags and banners - AND-  (wait for it, catch your breath) MINI ENVELOPES that look better than I do on a Saturday night after three drinks.

Check it out

New Product Party Time!

I feel like I've been away for years!  No, please, don't cry-  I'm right here!

There's so much excitement that I can barely keep it in my pants!  My wallet, I mean!

Yes!  It's almost PAYDAY FRIDAY and on top of THAT-  there's heaps of new product coming out of the woodwork!

Last night, I almost fell off my bed when I noticed that SCRAPBOOK.COM was now fresh in stock with all of Mr. Holtz's AMAZING new dies-  the globe, the telephone, the typewriter (AND MORE!!!)....  These look cool beyond words.

They are also carrying the embossing folders I've nearly gone insane waiting for- the "'Book Covers"  Aaaaaand the "Riveted Metal" and "Diamond Plate" set!!!   I've been coming up with so many ideas to use these for-  I can't wait to get a set in my hot little hands!

And speaking of the Holtzcitement-  did y'all check out his blog today for the special announcement?  NEW DISTRESS INKS!!!  Yes- you're right- it's time for the SPRING Seasonal Distress set.  Yes, if you're in Oklahoma, you'll join me in saying IT IS 90 FREAKIN DEGREES OUTSIDE SPRING WHAAAAT WE'RE ALREADY READY FOR THE SUMMER COLORS!!!   The colors are BEAUTIFUL - get over to Mr. Holtz's beautiful new website and see the colors for yourself!!!

K & COMPANY's crazily popular SMASH line is out with the new just-like-a-DYMO labelmaker.  Which I want.  Badly.  Why, Kory?  You have a real-life vintage DYMO labeler that works perfectly?  I LIKE THE FONT, OKAYYYYY?   And can you believe how popular the SMASH Books are?!  I heard from a friend that saw a display of them at a GROCERY store in Dallas!  You can buy them in Target!  I don't know why I find that as exciting as I do... Congratulations on a great product, K & COMPANY!!!  I love it!  (I also really love their SWATCH tape, which I recently picked up at the local store, My Heart's Fancy.)

Is there some new product you're excited about?  Let me know!

Hot Product Alert: New from KAISERCRAFT

I just about got a little too excited when I saw this hot new sexy product from those damn geniuses at Kaisercraft!

The TECHNOLOGIC collection is beyond cool.  So cool it went past cool and back to cool all over again.  It's beautiful.  It's hot.  And I need it all.

These papers from the new line really caught my eye:

Excited.  Wouldn't these be great for a some pages in which I reminisce about my days as a handsome young kid?   That's called revisionist history.  I looked like a little blond frog.

Check out this sheet of KEYBOARD stickers!!!

This set of 'Collectables' is too cool for words, too:

Now, the stamps.  I'm a stamp hoarder and proud, but I would really USE these!!!  A BAR CODE STAMP?!?!  PERFECT!!!  Those robots would be great on cards.  I've already got a card idea in mind, for my coworker's birthdays- insert lame joke about being 'robots,' stamp on the card, you're done.

Also, I'm sure I don't have to point out how great the gears are, but THE HEART-BLEEP MACHINE?!?!  Cool for a get well card or another coworker birthday card!  Insert a lame 'glad you survived the week' joke and YOU'RE DONE!

Alright, I'm a bit too excited over all this stuff.  Must. Order. Now.

See all of this hot sexy new product over at scrapbook.com HERE.
