Instagram? Instagram!

Thanks to Sherry at My Favorite Things, there is now heaps more INSTA in my INSTAGRAM!  I'm feelin' like an INSTAGENIUS!

Y'all know how much I hate to order things -  you pays your monies, and then you WAIT.  I don't like to pay and wait.  I like to pay and HAVE.  This means that even with the existence of such great Instagram printing apps, like  PostalPix, I've never ordered any prints.

Because of my technological limitations, I've also never been able to properly format photos following other's 'easy' directions for printing out a sheet of Instagram beauty.  You know what I'm talking about- stuff like: "First, you just open up a copy of Photoshop version 20 and have these three updates and extras installed, then you create a new document in this pixel size, download and load this template then..."  Photoshop?  I was barely able to operate THE PRINT SHOP on my first DOS computer- what the hell are you trying to explain to me?  I just want my Instagrams!

Imagine my orgasmic surprise this morning, when I come across Sherry's blog- and today's post with the heading, "Easy Instagram Printing."  Easy is one of my favorite four letter words.  Click on that link, read, enjoy, discover.  Grow.

And you know what?  Within an hour later, it was time for my lunch break.  I was on my way to Walgreen's to pick up four sheets of beautifully printed squares of joy.

I did several different options- a sheet of six little squares, a sheet of two big squares and four littler squares- as they say, the possibilities are ENDLESS.  Again, visit Sherry, follow her instrutcions, thank her profusely- and, as Brini Maxwell would say,  'Now, why didn't you think of that?!'

That's not even all- can you believe it?   The day- MONDAY- even gets better?  Why, yes!  It does!

You know what Mr. Walgreen's is doing for all of us photo-addicted peoples?  No, not introducing us to a new hobby!  They're giving us a discount!  Not a stingy barely worth it 25% off entire sale- ahem, Michaels, coughcough- they're giving 40% OFF ENTIRE PHOTO PRINTING AND ENLARGEMENTS until the 31st.  Of July.  Now if that doesn't give you the will to stop reading blogs and earn your paycheck, I don't know what will-  All you gotta do is:  "Enter coupon code PRINTIT40 at checkout thru Tuesday, July 31st.*"  You'll have to visit Mr. Walgreens and his website to see whatever that asterisk is referring to- all I know is that the coupon is good for photos and and enlargements until the 31st of July.  I used it with great success to get my Instagrams today and I'm in love...

Again, Sherry- I thank you.  The world will thank you.  Yes, it's that important.

*my version of what the asterisk will be referring to, if *I* wrote the fine print:

"Thank you, customer, for your interest in our very kind 40% discount on all prints and enlargements.  I'm sure that you'll enjoy the discount.  I'm also sure you'll be so pleased with such a generous coupon code that when you arrive to pick up your photos, you'll stay off of your cell phone while in line to pay and even treat the cashier and/or photo desk employee with nothing but courtesy and kindness.  We also trust that you'll not hold up any lines while you try to argue that the coupon for 40% off prints and enlargements should also apply to custom mousepads, coffee cups, calendars or even any product off the shelves at the store than you managed to grab with the hand not holding your cell phone while pushing your way to the photo desk.  Please, wash your hands.

Shopping Round-Up!

First of all, I *love* to say 'Round-Up.'  It is just fun to say!

Besides just being fun to say, it also reminds me of the time I was 18- living in a ghetto apartment with friend from high school and totally enjoying being young, stupid and having a hell of a good time.  Yeah, I was very poor and would sometimes have a can of corn for dinner-  don't be sad, that was very rare.  My roommate and I usually ate very well, by 'dating for dinner.'  What's 'dating for dinner?'  It's just like it sounds- kinda like prostitution, only instead of a crumpled up wet twenty dollar bill tossed at us after the 'date,' it was a plate of food.  And we didn't even have to put out.  We just put up the appearance of heading in that direction.

"Wait, Kory- what are you talking about?  Get back on track- the ROUND UP."

Oh, yeah.  So, the Round-Up was a cheap diner about a block away from our ghetto apartment.  If we had a few bucks, my roommate, Deana, would join me for a biscuit and a big cup of iced tea.  (Or, as we pronounce it here, 'Ice Tea.')  We would sit at the Round-Up for hours and watch all the senior citizens come in for late dinner/early breakfast after the square dance at the Masonic Lodge across the street.  I got the biggest kick out of the old ladies and their gigantic frilly dresses.

Okay, enough rambling- here's the ROUND-UP!

Let me begin by saying that this week- I HATE MICHAELS.  Why?  Because they have the Spellbinders for Buy One Get One Fitty Off, which translates to WORST DEAL OF THE FREAKING CENTURY.  Because now I can't use the rather generous 50% coupon (generous, but still stingy, as it's only valid Friday and Saturday 6-7JUL).  Wait, am I right?  I can't use the coupon on a Spellbinder cuz they're already on special?  Or if I only buy one, does that make it NOT on sale and I CAN use a coupon?  I'm asking you because if I asked a cashier at Michaels, I'd just get a blank stare and whatever answer they can best pull out their ass at that moment.

SO: MICHAELS: 50% off coupon, good on 6-7JULY- only.

Alright, now on to JO-ANN!

They've got the Vagabond, designed by our crafting lord and savior- Tim Holtz, for 169.99.  The bad news?  It's WEB ONLY.

Their 40% OFF Papercrafting SALE continues, too!  Which is like being able to use one regular coupon on everything you buy, instead of going to every store in town with Holly and handing her cash and a coupon to get something else.  CONVENIENCE!  Thanks, Jo-Ann!

J's also has a 50% Off coupon for this Friday/Saturday, too.  AND a 20% off total purchase, INCLUDING sales!  WhoooHOO!

And over at Da HobLobs-

Hobby Lobby has angered me.  Yeah, they've got the usual 40% off coupon, but they've marked Sizzix/Cuttlebug/Spellbinders at 30% off, killing the coupon.  Is the universe conspiring to keep me from getting a new set of Spellbinders at a great sale price?  I guess there's the sale at Jo-Ann, but still...
And you know what, Hobby Lobby?  By only putting the dies at 30%, and not having any other great sales this fabulous 4th of July week, you have effectively given our great country a big middle finger.  That's right.  You have insulted this great country by not having a better 4th of July sale.  How do you feel about yourself NOW?!

Enough of the chain store talk- let's talk about a local shop!

I went to Whole Lotta Scrap, yesterday, with Darla and Tanya- two of the most funnest people over at Scrapbook.com.  And I took a picture, to slightly illustrate how much I love Whole Lotta Scrap!

There it is- that's why I love Whole Lotta Scrap.  The largest selection of Mr. Holtz's dies ANYWHERE in town!  That's not even all of them!  Their Tim Holtz section is so big I couldn't even fit it all in the frame!  So which die did I pick up this time?  The new Decorative Strip 'Washer Border.' I love it!  I thought about getting another-  the Vintage Valise, Rickety House AND the new Globe were ALL calling my name.  But since I couldn't decide which one of those three I really wanted the most at that moment, I said no to all of them.  Heartless, yes, I know.

Well, speaking of craft 'n scrap stores, it looks like one has exploded in my work area.  I gotta go, I've got to try to clean up and organize stuff.  Wish me luck.  I might get a few sheets of paper into my new (on sale!) plastic paper cases before I get distracted by my total laziness.

Couponathon!

This week's sale highlights:
50% off coupon at Michaels!
The regular 40% off at da HobLobs.
40% one regular item at JOANN, plus some random sewing coupons- however, if you are in the OKC area, the new location has 50% coupons for each day of the Grand Opening, this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as a 10.00 gift card to the first 100 people each day. Arrive early, first come, best dressed, all that...

As much as I want to complain about Mondays, they can have their light and bright moments.  One of my favorite 'Monday Moments?'  (And can I ever stop thinking up little catchy names for things? No.  Probably not.  Sorry.)

My favorite 'Monday Moment' happens before 8am.  Every Monday.  I settle into my cubicle with a cup of coffee and moments later, my boss walks through the door.  Most people might not like to see their boss walk through the door.  But I love her.  She looks a bit like Joan Collins in her Dynasty days, with the withering glare to back the look up.  She's also hysterically funny and both gets and enjoys my sense of humor.  I can't ever think about quitting because I can't leave my boss.  So, what happens when she walks in the door?  She throws the HOBBY LOBBY and MICHAELS newspaper ads/circulars onto my desk.

And then I clip out my coupons.

Yes, I do have all the apps on my phone.  The Michaels app.  The Joann's app.  And I have the Hobby Lobby coupon webpage saved as a bookmark on my phone's screen.  But they tend to be a bit slow- especially the Michaels app.  I have to start loading it about the time I reach fourth in line to the cashier.  There's never a short line at Michael's.

But I love my paper coupons.  They're convenient.  I like having a wallet full of them.  I also like having extras.  If the app is working, I use it and give the paper coupon to whoever looks the nicest in line behind me.  And by 'looks the nicest,' I don't mean 'the most attractive.'  I mean the one that looks to be, or is, the most polite.  That means someone who isn't yapping into their cell phone or complaining about one thing or another or or or....

Because if I make life better by sharing my coupons, maybe that will assuage my guilt over not recycling my wine bottles.  I do try to remember the recycling bin, I really do.
